Kawista merupakan tanaman buah yang termasuk famili Rutaceae. Tanaman ini mulai langka dijumpai, padahal berpotensi besar sebagai bahan baku minuman maupun sebagai batang bawah tanaman jeruk. Tanaman muda asal biji yang dituhibuhkan secara asentis, diambil jaringan kotil, hipokotil, epikotil, ruas pertama dan daunnya untuk digunakan sebagai eksplan. Eksplan tersebut ditumbuhkan pada media dasar Murachige & Skoog (MS) dengan atau tanpa tambahan zat pengatur
tumbuh (ZPT)2,4- Dichlorophcnoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) 1 mg/l, 6- Benzylaminopurine (BA) 2 mg/l alau kombinasi 2,4-D 1 mg/l dan BA 2 r.ig/1. Eksplan kolil daun dapat membentuk kalus pada semua perlakuan, kecuali kolil pada kontrol, tetapi kedua eksplan tersebut tidak ada yang membentuk tunas. Eksplan hipokotil dan epikotil membentuk kalus pada semua perlakuan dan membentuk tunas pada sebagian perlakuan. Eksplan ruas pertama membentuk kalus dan tunas pada semua perlakuan. Tingkat
morfogénesis yang terjadi akibat pemberian ZPT berbeda tergantung pada macam eksplan yang digunakan. Eksplan ruas pertama mempakan pilihan yang terbaik untuk mendapatkan tingkat morfogénesis yang tinggi dibanding dengan eksplan yang lain.
